Cipla I-Pill is is a single dose emergency contraceptive that provides a safe and easy way to prevent unplanned pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.
Some people refer to the I-Pill as the "morning after pill." It can also be used as a back-up birth control method under some circumstances such as: contraceptive failure; unprotected sex; improper use of regular birth control method and forced sex. What it does: the I-Pill prevents the ovulation, fertilization or implantation of the egg in the uterus. Preventing that from happening prevents pregnancy. When the i-pill should be taken: this medication should be taken as soon as possible after unprotected sexual intercourse - preferably within 24 hours and no later than 72 hours.
Effectiveness
If you take the I-pill within 24 hours of unprotected sex, is is 95% effective.
Important things to remember:
The I-pill is not an abortion pill. The I-pill is ineffective if the patient is already pregnant. It will not end a pregnancy that has already begun. The I-pill does not protect against or prevent HIV/AIDS or other S.T.D.s.
